FreeBSD install went smoothly. I ran into the first hitch after the install. The system won't power down, ie shutdown or reboot hang after syncing the disks with the default kernel. It looks like this is a problem with ehci support built into the kernel, as per bug reports on their site and posts on the bsd forums. Upgrading to 7.0 did not work either. I had to rebuild the kernel with the ehci line commented out, now the shutdown and reboot commands work properly.
