FC8 will not work for me. It has too much stuff hidden below the hood. Gnome is not something I prefer, tried Xfce but somehow I just don't like Fedora. Maybe its too friendly :-> I will not try ubuntu or any versions thereof for the same reason. Debian was preferable (ran perfectly on the laptop when I tested it), but there is the ice weasle problem, which drove me off debian. I have been toying with the idea of freebsd for some time. That is what I will try first (have 6.3 ISO's ready) . Now to burn, nuke and pave. PS :- I am not going to try dual booting at any point.
