Perhaps it's still psychologically better for you to not expect anything, even though something will be there. That way you get to experience the joy of finding more than you were expecting. If the "don't expect anything" weren't there you would've been bored by the blah, yet thanks to it the blah becomes an exciting event to be reveled in by all. This is probably what System Breaker meant to accomplish.
