iBook discussion thread by aktivkruemel 2004-02-22 13:08:27
considering my resolve to participate more actively in the discussion board, I'll now start a new thread concerning my iBook / iBooks in general.

As stated above, I'm really fond of it, and I tried installing Gentoo on it. As it is an iBook G4 and they are rather new, that was of rather mixed sucess as far as hardware support is concerned. For example, sleep and wireless LAN are not yet supported, as are external monitors/beamers. So now after spending two weeks (albeit not all of it) on the install, I am back with macOS 10.3 and I'm actually happier with it than with gentoo. The only thing that annoys me is that it is seemingly not possible to customize ones keyboard. At least not if it's a German notebook-keyboard. The problem with the default German key map is that the \ is on alt-shift-7, meaning I need three fingers to get it. No try and TeX like that...

So If any of you know a way/are able to write a program that gives me a fully customized .rsrc file/ want to say anything else, be welcome.
