Office Chaos...round two by iggy 2005-06-02 08:14:18
Sometimes I think I should just give up and become a potato farmer...or yams...

So its been a few days since the last update. Lets catch you all up. For the sake of simplicity, lets refer to the partner who took over the company as Partner A and the one who was "fired" as partner B.

For the last few days the legal battle raged on. Partner A has been operating the company like he will be in charge of it forever. In the last few days he as offered to finance me getting some certifications and training. He also offered me more money. Things seemed to be going well.

Yesterday, Partner A brought in some third party folk to inventory and remove the contents of Partner B's office. All of this stuff was to be shipped off to a lawyer somewhere.

Meanwhile, there was some kind of offer on the table (that I was not aware of until after the fact) for Partner B to re-purchase the entire company. This is what has happened. As of yesterday afternoon, a transition period begins that will end June 8 during which time Partner B will take control of the company.

That's not all.

As part of the deal, partner A keeps all of the furniture, hardware and other gear that's floating around in here. He's moving it all out this weekend. Come Monday morning, there will be no furniture, no computers, no phones....there really won't be anything. Just a bunch of empty rooms. They're even taking the light fixture from the boardroom.

Technically and Legally, Partner A is not allowed to solicit the company's employees to come and work for the new company that he is going to be starting. He is the one that is willing to train and pay me though. Partner B has basically lost money on every transaction he has been involved in for the last year. The only reason the whole thing didn't come crashing down on him is that Partner A's side of the company made boatloads of money and basically funded Partner B's side. That's what sparked this whole mess in the first place.

I don't want to post my intentions here just yet, in case either of the partners finds it. All I will say is that I'm not really looking forward to the next week.

I'm going to go drink coffee now.

I.t.A.
