| How do you stop the company IT yes man? |

| I have a boss. He is a nice guy, but he drives me nuts. He is somewhat knowledgable, but he will agree to do the most absurd things that management asks him to do. For instance, one exec got a new top of the line laptop. Kept it for a few months then asked to have it swapped out because it was too slow and the keys stick. The keys stuck because it was filthy. The system ran slow becuase he downloads porn, among other things. And the boss had us get a brand new machine, same model. There was nothing wrong with the old one. Another example, while I was on vacation. He crashed a Solaris server while trying to update an antispam list. He turned the power off when the spam software didn't do what he thought it would. Then got mad at me for not calling him back during my vacation. All because some exec was getting on his case about one email address. Any suggestions? |
