Ducks played a part in how I met my husband. In an IRC chatroom this guy began telling a story about a duck who was fleeing a one-eared elephant. The duck was helped by a woman who happened to have my name. Of course, that gets my attention. Soon chatting turned to meeting for lunches (we happened to work in different offices of the same place) which turned to dating, then moving in together and engaged. In planning our wedding, we wanted it to be unique. I made the wedding invitations - which had ducks on them. The guests at the reception got little net bags with homemade duck-shaped cookies. For our wedding cake I found ceramic ducklings which we painted and dressed up - one in a veil and the other with a bow-tie.
