Fri 3/14 - It's Friday and PiDay by bigmal27 2014-03-14 06:39:30
This week has been a horrible mess.

Can't get done what needs doing because of continual interruptions including my own brain and the Win7 learning curve.

KidMal2.0 has a throat infection that made for a couple more horrible nights since my last post. But now he's feeling -- and sleeping -- better. However, his doctor appointment on Tuesday meant I went home for a 3-hour "lunch" -- which was certainly enjoyable (KidMal1.0 eating lunch then jumping in puddles outside) -- causing me to lose all overtime this week making up for it.

Big Snow Wednesday, Big Cold Thursday, and Big Wind still going. Thankfully the snowblower did well on the driveway and Thursday's sun melted the remains clean, despite the cold. (Snowblower tackling the slush on the previously-mentioned deep-puddled sidewalk? Not so much; it's fully clogged and frozen. Hoping today's warmup will melt it clean.)

But I do have something so celebrate: I've been at this job 9 years (including the first ~6 months as a contractor). Longer than any other period of my life: pre-school (5), elementary school (7), secondary schools (6), higher education (6), marriage (almost 7), fatherhood (3.5) (the last two being concurrent with each other AND this job, of course).

So all in all, I'm doing okay. Could be better, always. But can't truly complain, I guess. If I can handle this week, maybe I CAN handle certain bigger things coming.

(And although I don't say it here pretty much ever, thanks be to God for helping/guiding/getting/pulling me through all this. God have mercy regarding what is coming.)
