you'd be likely giving it to a volunteer that hopefully either a mod has met or UF staff have. So they have a clue as to what the person/people are like. Also drivers licenses or provincial ID's here only give a ID number, your address, and your picture. The actual id number on the ID doesn't mean much and is only scribbled down and used if at all after someone has actually looked at the picture.(banks do this and goverment agencies) The number can't be used if no pic accompanies it(ie unless you have the actual ID card its useless). The only ID numbered card here that could be misused that I know of is our SIN(social insurance number) as its used for a variety of things such as applying for work or as regular ID.(it is an id that has no picture only a number and your signature on it) For student ID's I'm guessing they are about the same as a drivers license or a provincial ID here. Now on to disabled ID cards for various services. My bus pass has my client number and address however no pic.(though personal info is stored on a magnetic strip on it) The number on that card might prove useful but probably very limited use. My fishing pass just shows a box ticked showing disabled license and has my name on it(and info to fill on on fish caught). The parks pass simply says bc parks disablility pass and has my name and address on it. The card has to be presented to be used similar to the BC ferries card which simply has my name on it. So unless someone goes to the trouble of properly counterfitting the cards they are of little use as they simply contain for the most part: an ID number if applicable, a pic if applicable, and the persons name/address.(often its the persons mailing address btw be that a house or box address) Likely too UF has your (mailing) address if they are sending you a membership card and applicable stuff.
As for other idea's on products see farther below as I've listed some... |
