Lets get started: I volunteer. by subbywan2002-06-12 21:56:32
I'll be sending you a few by Arienadean 2002-06-13 12:53:24
shortly as I'm adding to my collective of them(I took out a cookie book and breadmachine book from the library the other day). I could send one or two of my most commonly made yet well liked things from each basic recipe catagory. :)

However hmm I suggest a common geek food catagory be added to what is typical. In there put quick meal ideas that involve ramen noodles, pizza, leftovers, etc.

What catagories I think it probably should have are:

Beverages: For hot drinks, cold drinks, fruit drinks, and alcoholic.

Appetizers.

Snacks: For those munchies you can bring to work or have on the side at a lan party, etc. Things like home made nuts and bolts mix(due to products being diffrent in diffrent countries... the "mix" is a cereal mix of pretzles, etc that has been seasoned). Home made chips, nachos, etc. Cookies as well would fit under here.

Breads: Both regular breads and quick breads as well as the odd bread machine recipe.

Soups and Sandwiches.

Salads

Vegetables

Vegan Foods

Fish & Poultry

Red Meats

Pasta.

Ethinic Dishes: Things like curries, chowmien, poutine, etc.

Seasonal: dishes for holiday events or parties.

Eating for one or on the run: Dishes that wont leave a ton of left overs, etc and are easily portable if your busy.

Geek Foods: Where its varients of the usual geek diet stuff to spice things up, make left overs more livable, to find multiple uses of ramen, and how to do simple sushi, etc.

Cooking tips and hints: For some ideas on meals and how to get reasonable results.
