    That's not a Death Star... by ShadowSystems 2018-09-02 19:17:06
That's just the antenna dish I need to find a signal from Verizon.
Can you hear me NOW, you m6f6s?
AAAaaarrrrgh!

...

In all honesty that's not too far from the truth.
Verizon claims to have the best network bar none.
Back when I lived in Sacramento I evidently lived in a "Known Trouble Spot" (KTS) at the Ven Diagram intersection where *none* of the three closest towers, all within about a mile from me, couldn't actually reach me at home.
Go to the freeway bridge about a snail's sneeze further than that 1Mile & suddenly I could get a full signal, but *ONLY* when standing/driving along the Highway 50 corridore.
The only other place I could get a full 5 bars anywhere in Sacramento was *inside a Verizon store*.
Smile & wave to the cell signal booster hidden in the ceiling!

I moved from Sacramento to Modesto, still with Verizon, & guess what?
Evidentally I pick *perfectly* another KTS!
I could sit at my computer with the phone plugged into the charger & the best I could get was 2~3 bars.
The *only* place in town where I could get a full 5 bars was, take a guess, *inside the Verizon store*.
Verizon's network is utter crap.
They can claim the best network out there, but that's only if you cherry pick the locations from which you measure connectivity.

I switch to T-Mobil, get another clamshell flip phone, & suddenly I'm getting a full 5 bars pretty much everywhere!
Sitting at my computer with the phone on the charger, out & about town, & *especially* along the freeways - 4~5 bars with the 4's usually being in the shadow of a building or at the park beneath the trees.
I've yet to hear the phone report anything less than 4 bars.
So T-Mo trounces Verizon's network like a 25-to-0 shutout soccer game.
I can *DEFINITELY* hear you now!
=-)
