The page is lacking any CSS goodness. I did a distro package install of gitweb on CentOS, and all I had to edit was the line `our $projectroot = <root directory for the remote git repos>` The rest was just creating the virtual host for Apache (the bottom of section 4.6 of the book), except that the document root was `/var/www/git` and I ended up with the url of `http://{virtual host}/git/`
