there should be something comparable around your area, but may not be inexpensive.

She'll take in a painting (her watercolors are shown at here [safe]) and get back a Very-High-Res file on a CD or DVD. Used to be on a 4x5 or 8x10 negative, so she can (if she felt need to) get Giclée prints or other prints made. Blue at Artworks does work for various high-end California Art Club-grade artists, and is meticulous.

They're right, at whatever level, you want somebody small, local, and willing to do it Right (and Right the first time is even better.)
