Electrical Question for the UFicle by jpprater2014-05-17 16:17:07
  Certainly NOT normal. by radiowave911 2014-05-17 16:29:43
The wires in an electric oven cavity are made to withstand high temperatures. They should not be failing at that rate.

Are there terminals on the end of the heating element that the connectors attach to with a friction fit (like a spade connector) or is it a screw-type of connector? Are they in a single terminal block housing or attached to the end of the element itself? What type of connector did you use to replace the failed ones? I have never really thought to look for heat ratings on crimp terminals (which I am assuming you used), but it is possible that the terminal you used was not rated for the high temperatures of an oven.

They were insulated? by radiowave9112014-05-17 16:54:30
So I might need a different type of connector by jpprater2014-05-17 17:02:31
I would get an uninsulated connector for starters by radiowave9112014-05-17 17:09:46
