I've been using TrueCrypt	by binkley	2014-05-16 19:15:53
I keep it local to my laptop, no remote / server based access. I like the interface, which sets up to mount a virtual drive as an encrypted single file. Within that I just use a spreadsheet. It seems to have a good range of encryption choices, and I've never observed any bad behavior. It auto unmounts when you hibernate or shut down. No complaints, and the price is right.
