THOR failure. We're working on the "100% success is possible" premise. There are enough failures guaranteed to happen in this little endeavour that I would rather not point them up at the outset.
I'm sure we'll have one or more of our own fizzlers on the pad, or the idiot child of the class (usually the one with the highest IQ) will "improve" something after I've done his balance and CG/CT checks. And when he hits the firing key the thing will go sideways. Or nowhere. (Over the years I've had both happen, and with a crowd of kids that makes for some serious embarrassment, I can tell you. But they love it anyway, and embarrassment is over with quickly.)
Nowhere is best, but sideways is always an option. I've got a nice area to do this with some low spots in the ground, and it's perfectly suited for "HIT THE DECK!" kinds of operations. I've been at this with this school for nearly twenty years, and I've had time to tweak up this part of the procedure. It's extremely safe for them. (And me.)
