UFicle: Windows 7 GAC Permissions by dwarf_sfu 2014-05-16 09:53:43
UFicle,

I work in a managed Win7 environment (ie. another section of IT controls EVERY aspect of the workstations), but have run into an interesting issue.

My user account has the ability to ADD DLLs to the GAC, but am unable to remove them. It's sounding like the only solution is to add the user account to the local Admin group, but that will be a no-sale because it gives too many OTHER permissions.

So... How can I be granted permission to remove DLLs from GAC, without being in the Admin group?

I've searched with Google (apparently my Google-Fu is weak today), and read around in MSDN, but haven't found anything. So... I'll ask the smartest people I know!
