Update (and clarification) on last nights post: by TranceWarp2014-05-05 02:42:20
I still think you're getting upset over nothing. by Sharku2014-05-05 05:19:36
It's not the game itself dying I'm upset about. by TranceWarp2014-05-05 16:29:04
      I don't know where you're getting your info. by Sharku 2014-05-05 17:55:09
...but your source doesn't sound that well informed.

First, you keep calling it CCP Shanghai, that's just the office where the Dust 514 team happened to be located, CCP Games is the actual name of the company.

Second, Fanfest has always been focused on EVE, just as Minecon has always been focused on Minecraft, Blizzcon on WoW, StarCraft and Diablo... You know, the flagship products for their respective companies. You make it sound like Fanfest was deliberately set up just to tell Dust 514 players that they were pulling the plug. It wasn't, in fact having a quick look on the EVE wiki I found photographs from Fanfest 2004, just one year after EVE launched.

I can't seem to find it right now, but I saw a number floating around the other day of ~400 people attending this year's Fanfest, and I have a real hard time believing Dust 514 players were anything but a small minority of attendees, given the relative sizes of the user bases. Were there Dust 514-only players attending Fanfest? I'm sure there were, and I'm sure they're pretty ticked off right now, but seriously caveat emptor. If I go to a music festival I'd otherwise have no interest in, to see a single band/performer and their performance sucks, I have no one to blame but myself.
