...when pondering my navel one day. That since you were using headphones, the monitor wasn't strictly necessary anymore except for SightedMinion intervention. But I guess it is, if only as a glorified loopback device, telling the video adapter comfortingly "yes dear, I'm right here". That satisfies my unstated curiosity.
