the signal pulsed to it, allowing the video card to know tat it's there. No voltage needed. This is also part of how these modules "talk" between themselves, figure out the best resolutions, etc. So the system, by dint of figuring out the cable is connected, is loading (or not) the video driver, just in case it might be needed. Just an FYI, no TZ theme needed.
