You ask, "Do you want to pay for a mistake for life?"

Um. No. No, I don't.
In fact, I don't want to pay for my mistakes at all--not even temporarily! I want my mistakes to be completely consequence free! (Or at the very least, I want others to absorb the consequences so I don't have to!)

So what? My not "wanting" to pay for my mistakes doesn't change who's responsible for my mistakes. And, guess what...it ain't society at large. (Or at least it shouldn't be.)

You're right. We all make mistakes. I've made big ones. But that shouldn't obligate YOU to cover the costs of my mistakes, should it?

There's nothing in the Constitution guaranteeing me freedom from the consequences of my own actions.
