See McNutcase's response to your last post from last night. Since there is no cost difference in coverage plans with respect to contraceptive services, Hobby Lobby is taking the position that their rights of religious freedom should give them access to the private medical decisions of their employees so they can have the ability to instruct the insurance carrier to refuse coverage on procedures that would otherwise be covered. That is a GROSS and unwarranted invasion into the lives of their employees, and potentially into the lives of people who are NOT their employees (e.g. family members). If it is allowed for this, nothing prevents it from invading other medical cases, since people have claimed religious objections to transfusions and surgery.
As said, your right to swing your fist stops at my nose. |
