temps. It's all of 4 (C) / 39 (F) at the moment.
My little dual-core Atom Dell Mini10V is sitting at just about 40C right now. (One core shows 38, the other 42, and since it's one chip we'll just split the difference and call it 40 C.)
Might be all of 12C tomorrow (that's low 50's F), but the odds of rain or snow starting the day off are pretty good. I'm betting snow, since the morning temp should be below freezing.
Today was the first day that the outside temperature during the day (after 1300) has been above freezing. In over three and a half weeks.
Can you say, "BRRR!!"?? More to the point, can you say, "OUCH! MY HEATING BILL!!!"?? I know I can.
We keep the place at just about exactly 20 C. (That's about 68 F, for the metric-impaired.)
Warmer than that is much too expensive to manage, in this draughty old mausoleum. Less than that is hard on the infant.
The wood stove in the front room keeps that area at about 22 C / 72 F and that's where little Marie spends most of her day, paddling about the living room. Mostly she is either eating something, or crawling away from one of us like a hot-wired tortoise and laughing like a fiend.
She is probably the happiest baby I've ever seen. Hardly ever cries. When she does get a mad on, they all just hand her to me, and she starts laughing again. (Even BABIES know how goofy-looking I am, it seems.)
The cats hear her coming and head for the basement, or outside. At Flank speed. The dogs have all learned, this one has a "PULL IT!" thing going, be it tails, paws, ears, or whatever else is available for someone 70 cm tall to grab and yank.
Oh, and for the rest of that awake time, if she's not eating, crawling and laughing, still in that 'YANK!' mode, she's probably to be found pulling my beard.
