Even my spell casters because we never knew what our DM would come up with. Many of my characters were specialized in one form or another, but each of them had at a minimum 2 backup weapons and often more. I just took a look at three of my favorite fighter characters and they all had at least two swords, a couple of daggers, at least one bow, and two of them had war hammers that could be thrown.
