I can't remember where Reti is right now, but I object in general to the not allowed use of Spanish west of Mississippi. There's plenty of Spanish speakers here, many of them migrant workers from Mexico, Central America, and South America. Speaking Spanish, while mostly optional, is needed for certain situations. Among them, working in a retail store with a lot of migrant worker customers. I could give a greeting, total, change (if needed), and a goodbye all in Spanish.
