on a notoriously slick area. (already LOTS of tube of yoo already)
I still have fond memories of State St. in Salt Lake City, coming over the hill by the capital heading for school on the first icy day, watching the traffic sliding all over and bumping into the parked bumper cars on both sides before they dissipated that energy.
And the one steep grade into a lot on campus (at the U of U), where a long line was waiting their turn to take a long run at it, hoping to get up before they slid back and had to start over.
Going up (was it Temple?) towards the U, the crown of the roadway was enough that many were sliding off to the right into (again) parked bumper cars; I was just able to keep traction...
And when it thawed some, snowed again, stepping on a patch that looked like just snow, finding it was a pothole full of slush! In uniform (greens) and dress shoes, spending the day in classes drying that out (not so fond)! |
