I run Windows because: a) I'm intimately familiar with keeping it clean and fixing it, and b) I play games that don't play on Linux (even with WINE).
Other than that, I have no attachment. :)
Dell does actually sell a few laptops either OS-free or with Linux, but the latter is probably not your distro.
Same things apply, minimize writes to preserve SSD life, and I think Linux might have an SSD-friendly filesystem as well. Either way, I *KNOW* you can tailor it to do so better than you can Windows. |
