Too often I've seen sunup by staying up for it, and when the Lab had me travelling to the Cape and Huntsville, that did seem to help. Of course, working an unaccustomed shift can have the same effect, and on a two-week Shuttle mission, there was no time for the month it takes to fully acclimate.
As a wise friend (Ron Burns of Galileo fame, now gone) concluded, "The human nervous system is AC-coupled". Live somewhere strange for six months, you'll feel like it's home (other things equal of course). |
