entertainer (as he calls himself), still lives in the Pacifica Archives, and his KPFA talks are re-played Sundays at 8AM PT on kpfk.org and around LA (well, from Mexico to Santa Barbara) on FM.
He dropped the body in 1973, but his words still ring true, as one who studied all the Asian practices/philosophies as a Brit in America and Asia, and was able to introduce many to the Way (or Ways). Thus he still lives on. Roy Tuckman (AKA Roy of Hollywood) also plays his MEA recordings (managed by his son Mark Watts in Olema CA) on Thursday night into Friday morning, starting at midnight PT, same station and archived for IIRC 90 days; look for 'Something's Happening'.
I've been listening since about 1977-78, when he was also on KMET in LA, and KPFK when the 'mighty MET' dropped him.
Some abundant wisdom in there, and the most infectuous laugh. We try still to get our fix every week, even when it's difficult to carve out five minutes to meditate.
As Dr. Richard Alpert (AKA Ram Dass) is known to say, "Any therapy is only as high as the therapist", so go with what plucks your heartstrings most sincerely. Be abundantly well! {{{oot}}}. |
