going so they could "honour" vets.
Gets to that time of the service when they want to do this thing, and they drag all the vets to the front, yammer awhile, and give us all little "flag pins."
On the way out I gave mine back to the pastor person, "No thanks." (This was not done loudly, or publicly, or in any angry manner; but very quietly on the way out the door, in a low voice, and I mostly just palmed it back to him as he did the glad-hand routine to everyone as they left.)
I showed him the "Made In China" sticker on the back when he stopped me and asked point-blank why I didn't want it. I just flipped it over and pointed.
I heard that the next and subsequent years they did the same schtick (to which I was most ASSUREDLY not invited) and the little pins they handed out ever since have all been marked, "Made in the U.S.A."
Hope your little guy had a lot of fun. Dinosaurs and sharks, what more can a little kid want? |
