and for that I apologize.. the point wasn't about valentine's day in and of itself .. it was work and holidays in general.. because of my being the "recent addition" .. (longest in the office time wise but not longest in the company I work at).. I always get stuck covering before and after vacation days.. since besides the new hire.. I have the lowest vacation count in the office.. also.. due to all of my medical issues I have to bank time for time off due to doctor's appts etc.. so I can't "tag" time around holidays for time off.. so 95% of the time.. since one of us has to be there.. I get stuck covering the office around the holidays.. and I'm getting sick of it.. I always get to be the last person leaving then.. and it is getting really really old.. and frustrating.. and it isn't going to get any better because the person with the showing up issues now has enough vacation to dodge work and take time off around the holidays.. I can't tell you how many times I've had to try and wrangle time off for my son's birthday.. and to top it off when I do get vacation time.. I can't tell you how many times I've gotten called in on it.. that has kind of gotten better recently but that is only because of my surgery.. just getting fed up in general.. they are so used to me "not having a life" and covering everyone's arse that when I do have a life.. it gets to be an issue... so that is it in a nutshell .. tired of missing out on my life for a job .. getting to a point that it's becoming a major problem.. Bellator suggested getting hired on at his place.. but the only things that are open would make it extra hard (conflicting shifts) or working every weekend which is what I want to move away from.. just trying to figure things out...
