A long time ago I saw on AR15.Com a "contest" where you would post a picture of a firearm, extra magazines, a tactical knife and dinner.
Everyone had modern weapons and food that was about as pretty as an MRE.
So I posted mine (well actually I had DR66 post it for me.)
A lovely dinner with venison ossobuco with cranberries and rosemary. I paired it with a rare version of the Winchester Model 94, an antique pistol and a Buck knife in a deerskin sheath. Of course I took the picture in a dining room that contained a table that my father and I had made using oak planks we had sawn in our sawmill 20 years earlier.
They called me a metrosexual.
Let me repeat that: this was a table I had built from trees I had cut down and turned into planks. A deer I had shot. The gun that won the west. An ancient pistol that belonged to a cop in the 20's. A big honking knife.
Somehow that is metrosexual.
I killed an animal, stuck it in a fire and ate it.
That's metrosexual?
Jeezum crow! What do you have to do so those people think I grew up in the country? Carry a club and grunt a lot? |
