peculiar printing issue by dennismv 2014-02-06 13:03:58
there are 2 computers that print to Canon imageClass D550. The printer itself is hosted via USB cable on $server machine that runs WinXP.

Me bring in 3rd (new) computer on which I want to install the proper driver (for Win 7 64 bit). Normally, I connect to printer on $server and all is done behind the scenes via i.e. Windows Update. Not this time.

Oh well, no biggie, I go download Win 7 64 bit Driver and install it. Cannot connect to printer still. It gives me error 0x00000d or something (don't recall exactly)

I go to $server and download drivers for Windows XP for that printer. Install them on $server. Server works fine.

Now, all 3 computers cannot print to $server :( Much sadness ensues. My next thought is to nuke and pave $server, but I'd really rather not. That thing has uptime of 375 days or so!

WinXP? Um, way past time to nuke and pave anyway. by Snate2014-02-06 13:11:34
It is still supported for two more months. :) by SaylorA2014-02-06 13:57:28
Without knowing the error it's hard to diagnose. (n/t) by RetiQlum22014-02-06 13:17:26
