Chatting with the union rep today before work. Apparently they are getting involved because I'm not the only contankerous employee here.

among the changes being enforced:
- Scheduling. Schedule MUST be posted (ie in writing) at a minimum of 2 weeks before the week the scheduel is for.
- Changes to the schedule can only be done 2 weeks in advance. short notice changes are on REQUEST only and the employee can refuse a change that is less than 2 weeks notice with no penalty.
- Idjit manager is not doing the scheduling any more. The guy that filled in for "good boss" when he was on paternaty leave will now be handling the scheduling.

I'm not sure whats going to happen in the fall when the new tower opens, but apparently when we are fully booked, there will be an ADDITIONAL 3000 people for breakfast. That's on top of the 1500 currently handled by the main resturant. also one of the smaller resturants will be doublingt their breakfast bookings.

added bonus:
The Union Rep is also one of the senior cooks. He said that when he went home the other day there was 4 wheeled shelving units full of dirty prep dishes (metal cooking pans, 25liter buckets for mixing salads etc.) For shelving units think 2m long by 2 high and 1m deep. it takes an average dishwasher about 90 minutes per unit. There was only a single dishwasher on for the evening.

I guess that explains why idiot manager made 11 phone calls to me (that I was ignoring) on my day off this week.
