ours in Pasadena (LAX Section-NE) does VE testing after each monthly meeting (second Saturdays at Huntington Hospital). This month Kate K6HTN is doing an NTS class parallel the tests, on using WinLink digital (soundcard) mode into the radio to pass traffic (written messages), we'd hope more reliably than by voice, and faster than Morse. She also runs a slow-speed Morse net Sunday evenings on 10-meters. Having been the Earthquake Lady at CalTech/USGS, she wants people to be able to handle messages in disaster scenarios. I'm fond of saying "It's not The Big One (the mind shies away from the thought). I just want to be ready for the Next Big Enough One!"
