Look up Golden Rice and how it could reduce blindness from Vitamin A deficiency, and how European countries effectively prevent its use by banning rice imports from countries where it is grown. Or how Hawaii's bans on transgenic agriculture exempt local cash crops of Papayas, but restrict imports of beet sugar, also to the benefit of local sugar cane producers.
