documentation, even a certificate "suitable for framing" declaring that I'm now qualified as a volunteer ham radio exam giver. If there are three volunteer examiners (with credentials) we can give tests and send passed scores up to the FCC, and the people we give the "passed" scores to will be given radio licenses.
Pretty handy, this, when / IF the ham club ever gets to actuality. I'll have at least two more adult hams involved with me, and I hope to get them both also rated to give the tests. Once there are the three examiners together, we can just do all our own club testing internally and not have to go begging to the university ham club.
Frankly I would really rather that the university people be involved in the testing for the kids, so that there can be no hint of any wrong-doing or allegations of test score padding. I want the licenses to be valid and earned, and no chance of any cheating or scandal.
The idea is not to keep the other club out, it's to make it so that we're not ONLY tied to their people (who have not been exactly reliable in the past). It would be a good thing to be independent when possible, I think, and to cooperate when we can, as well. Does any of that make sense? I just want options, and not to be either stand-offish with the other group nor yet to be limited by just their schedule, either.
Ah, well. Whatever. At the moment I'm just going to be happy that the certificate and credentials came, and all the studying and testing payed off.
