The James Brown dancing was, if I may commit heresy for a second, better than the Godfather of Soul could have pulled off himself.
And he's clearly got one hell of a voice, some serious moves, and lots of drum talent at the very minimum (I suspect polyinstrumental mastery, but haven't researched). I just don't find the music he's produced thus far to be all that memorable. It's executed beautifully, just...I dunno...not enough flash for a Super Bowl halftime show.
