My technology keeps me at my optimum sleep temperature - and deals with sweatiness or whatever. If I'm in a high-risk part of the universe, there's a level-10 forcefield around the bed and a minimum of three (the number varies randomly) phaser autocannon roaming around outside the forcefield. These have no predictable observation pattern - and are set to vaporize (not stun) anything that attacks the forcefield-protected area. Furthermore, these items are always hot - never in standby mode. They get rotated out randomly for reconnection to the power-tap - as needed - and then rotated back in again to resume patrol. Not to mention the shields around the ship itself - the long-range scanners set to detect anything vectoring towards my position within a light-year - those go without saying. There is no negotiation in the matter. Those beings stupid enough to commit suicide-by-stupidity are an asset to society - only if removed from the pool of existence. :-)
