Most machines today have onboard audio as well and the only beep
you'll ever get over the internal speaker would be during the
power on phase. The operating system will most likely send all
sound through the onboard device to the audio output port.


I prefer my machines to be mostly silent unless I want to listen
to something on purpose. Headphones for the win!
