I had a dream last night about Sentient Cats whom walked bipedal, playing a game.
The game involved elongated Icecream Scoop like sticks, catching & flinging "balls" at high speed.
The balls were various hamsters, mice, rats, squirrels, voles, and any other furry animal small enough to fit in the curve of the Stick.
People running around a field, flinging a ball at each other at *extremely* high velocities, like some form of demented Football meets Soccer meets CalvinBall meets Quiddich.
The Cats would either catch the "ball" in their Sticks & immediately fling the "ball" at someone else, or do their level best to catch the "ball" in their mouths & eat it on the fly.
If they flung it at someone, & the other person wasn't aware, it often impacted their skull with a mighty !THUD!, knocked them cold, & got a roar of approval from the audience.
If they caught & ate the "ball", the crowd went *WILD* in cheering, and a Penguin acting as a Ref would do the whole "gather at the Center Line, throw the "ball" in the air, and let the two facing players battle for it" routine just like Soccer.
Meanwhile, any player not actually actively catching the "ball" was free to pretty much beat the crap out of any other player whom wasn't trying to catch the "ball".
Tripping, tail pulling, & everything short of bloodshed, was evidently permissible, and penalties were rather harsh.
(The offending Player had to run a Gauntlet of the opposing team, whom got to whack the poor bugger with their Sticks.)
Anyway, except for the CalvinBall aspects, what's the name of this game?
I can't think of anything to Search for other than "icecream scoops & high speed balls", and that results in more porn than you can shake a pr... errr stick at!
