And they are not making sense about it

VERY VERY VERY few crimes are committed with so called assault weapons (the term being meaningless is a side argument) 35 murders out of 8700 gun related murders a year and last year was a very BAD year. Its usually 3 or 4 mostly in hunting accidents (because people do use Semi Automatic Rifles to hunt not everyone likes bolt actions) Less than 350 were committed with actual Rifles, and of the handguns used in crimes less than 5 percent were by Lawfully owned and registered handguns.

So why are they targeting law abiding Rifle and handgun owners when we contribute less than 10 percent of the problem.
