on commenting on the Wisconsin recall.

As many of you know I'm a life-long Wisconsin residentAnyone who follows my political comments will also know that I have decidedly Republican leanings with a fiscally conservative and socially libertarian bent in a Madisonian (the guy, not the city) constitutional context.

Given that, it should be no surprise that I am generally happy about how things worked out last night, though still angry about the fact that the recall occurred at all. I will also add that I think it was strategic errors on Walker's part that made the election results as close as they were.

Walker allowed the Democrats to change the battlefield after Barrett was nominated. The primary issue of the campaign became private sector job growth rather than the supposed union busting/returning control of the budget process back to elected officials (depending on your outlook) that triggered the recall in the first place.
