puts the target on defense. It's an accusation that cannot be defended against because it ascribes you motives. It does not address your actions, but instead assigns negative motivations for them. In other words, if someone doesn't like what you are doing, they may be in the wrong, but if they can accuse you of doing it because of racism, then YOU are in the wrong. Insidious.
