Another excellent BBC adaptation. It starts slowly, and takes a different approach from that of the novel. It's necessary to understand young Magnus Pym (father is a charismatic con man and wartime black marketeer, mother is depressed and withdrawn, bad experience in boarding school) to understand the man he becomes.
