C-130s use JATO all the time, or haven't you seen the Blue Angels' support plane take off?

launch rails support the sled the plane sits on, with enough clearance under for the monolith. when the plane generates enough winglift, it lifts up and away from the sled and rails and the sled splits and falls away to the sides to provide clearance; after it drops the monolith it can land normally.
