Not upset enough to use the dome, but still a little miffed. Friday night, SWMBO gets a call from her second job stating that she is supposed to work 7p-7a. She had just worked 7a-7p at her regular job, was tired and her schedule she had did not show her on it. So she did not go in and informed them that she would not be in. The scheduler forwarded a copy of this week's schedule to her and asked for her availability for next month along with a note of "make sure you get a copy of the new schedule" and nothing other than that.
The schedule sent to her two days ago had her off today. She gets the call 15 minutes ago asking why she was not there. She told them she was not on the schedule sent to her two days ago. They said they really needed her and that they were short handed. So she just left to go in. I had plans to catch up on some work I missed the other day with a stomach bug. Now I have been forced to plop the kids in front of the TV with baggies of snacks so I can get caught up (formulas running right now).
I told her that she does not need this second job. She gets enough extra hours at her regular job that she does not need the heartache. Heck, she was written up on her second day by a crotchy-old nurse because she did not have one sheet of paper in the hand-over that SWMBO was just asked to transport over. She was not even the admitting nurse. Apparently this place has peer write-ups as common as bacon and WiFi at a UFie dream meet.
She does not also need some two-bit semi-educated scheduler with a chip on her shoulder messing with her life like this. I told her first thing Monday she is to call her manager and talk to her. Send her the email the scheduler sent and make a scan of the schedule she had. If something does not get fixed, it is time to resign. The extra $3.75/hr that this job has over the other job that she likes is not worth it.
Sorry for the rant. Just a little bit miffed right now. |
