(if you don't use a rice cooker, which is even more simple)
Large square casserole dish (you know, the 3" deep Corningware square).
1. Put in 1 cup of long-grain rice (scented rice, or basmati rice both work well), rinse it to get rid of excess starch (and bugs, dirt, etc.), drain off the rinse water.
2. Add 2 cups of water.
3. Cover (use the glass lid that comes with the dish).
4. If you're using basmati rice, let it soak for 15 minutes.
5. Cook 5 minutes on high, followed by 15 minutes on 60%.
That's it. Obviously, depending on your microwave, those times may have to be adjusted up or down as appropriate. |
