I slipped a couple times during the week, but not due to cravings...there simply was no place close, even fast food places, where I could get anything vegetarian or vegan.
So, I shrugged and ordered the yummiest thing on the menu. One tool I won't be using on myself is guilt. :) Besides, veganism isn't the ends...it's the means to continued health.
But I found a few places after that where I can still stick to the plan the next time I end up there for work around lunchtime.
But as for cravings...on the way home, I realized I was still wanting something (chocolate) even though I was full. No big deal...if this is the worst it gets, this'll be a breeze. :) (I can probably have some sort of dark chocolate anyway, if it's not too sugary and I don't have it often.)
I like this Fuhrman guy. His gist seems to be "the vast majority of your calories should come from unprocessed plant matter. If you're not 100% vegan or vegetarian outside of that, whatever...just don't undo the good you're doing."
So yeah...the VERY OCCASIONAL cheese or chocolate or piece of meat might still be on the menu. But I might not want it by then. ;)
So, in a nutshell, a few difficulties, but all's well. |
