This post brought to you by the brand spankin' new computer my dad and I assembled for my mom, powered by a Core i7 2600K, 8GB RAM, and (as you may have guessed from earlier) an OCZ Agility 3 (in addition to the usual batch of other necessary parts). This is the first time I've handled a solid state drive. I'm astonished how quickly the system boots into either of the OSes we put on it (Ubuntu Linux 11.04 and Windows 7 Home Premium; the former at my suggestion and mom's request, the latter on my dad's insistence). There was an old Linux mailing post I saw at some point (probably in `fortune`) about the 1.3.27 kernel release being called InstaBOOT(tm). I think something resembling that title may finally be justified. :p
